Northern Traces. Ancient North America

Exhibition that, beyond the beauty of the pieces exhibited, offers us a rich aesthetic intercultural experience.

This aesthetic experience is filled with various links and intricacies given that these indigenous cultures are part of our history and our imagery. It is a light-dark history of cruel and creative contacts and an imagery that filled our childhood years with ideas about the fact that nature was not a savage place, but a space for the realisation of our identity, and that it was the city that was really the jungle that had to be tamed.

The exhibition is divided in 6 thematic zones: Artic zone, North East Coast, Eastern Forests, Prairies, the high plateaux and the coasts of the West and Mesoamerica.

Inuit, Tlingit, Haida, Ojibwa, Cherokee, Apache, Hopi, Navaho, Sioux, Mogollon, Anasazi, Casas Grandes, Mixtec, Aztec and Maya are some of the cultures represented in the exhibition.
